To the line controllers~
(The first two are here -> It's worth fighting for.)
The final chapter of the trilogy is also the climax of the whole story.
The editing of the theatrical version focuses more on the war of the big scene, and the rhythm is tense and eye-catching. On the contrary, switching to the plot of the trio of precepts, the contradictions and sinisterness without direct conflict, is even more uncomfortable. Gollum is the best portrayal of human beings, wandering between good and evil, hundreds of years of experience have already exhausted the word trust, suspicious, timid, and unscrupulous to achieve their goals. In the big battle of Baicheng, the people who love each other must stay together, the evil forces disappear, and the emperor returns to the Middle-earth world, opening the era of human beings. Once again, I fell into a familiar plot. I didn’t care about photography techniques, camera switching, color and light. This world was too real. I only felt that I was an intruder, like every small being, wandering in the Middle Earth.
I love the incisive beauty of language in the final chapter
1. Arwen & The Sword
Arwen: From the ashes a fire shall be woken A light from the shadow shall spring Renewed shall be blade that was broken The crownless again shall be king
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
2. Pippin & The song
Pippin: (Lyrics, melody, picture, when the horses hoofs sound...indescribable) Home is behind The world ahead And there are many path to tread Through shadow, to the edge of night Until the stars are all alight Mist and shadow Cloud and shade All shall fade All Shall Fade
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
3. Merry & Eowyn - to battle
Merry: I know it is too late to turn aside. I know there is not much point now in hoping. If I were a knight of Rohan, capable of great deeds... but I'm not.
I'm a Hobbit. And I know I can't save Middle-Earth. I just want to help my friends. Frodo. Sam. Pippin. More than anything, I wish I could see them again.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
4. Theoden King
Theoden King: Forth, fear no darkness! Arise, arise, riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day, a red day, and the sun— rises!
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
5. Pippin & Gandalf
Pippin: I didn't think it would end this way. Gandalf: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you will see it. Pippin: What, Gandalf? See what? Gandalf: White shores, and beyond. A far green country, under a swift sunrise. Pippin: Well... that isn' t so bad. Gandalf: No. No, it isn't.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
6. Eowyn & Angmar
The Witch King of Angmar: You fool. No man can kill me. Die, now. Eowyn: I am no man.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
7. Eowyn & Faramir
Eowyn: The city has fallen silent. There is no warmth left in the sun. It grows so cold. Faramir: It's just the damp of the first spring rain. I do not believe this darkness will endure.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
8. The Black Gate
Aragorn: Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes, the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come, when courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down. But it is not this day. This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
9. Gimli & Legolas
Gimli: Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an Elf. Legolas: what about side by side with a friend? Gimli: Aye. I could do that.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
10. Sam & Frodo
Sam: Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo? It will be spring soon. The orchards will be in blossom, and the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. They will be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields, and eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries? Frodo: No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food, nor the sound of water, nor the touch of grass. I'm..naked in the dark, there's nothing...no veil between me and the wheel of fire. I can see him, with my waken eyes. Sam: Then let us be rid of it, once and for all. Come on Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
11. Frodo & Sam
Frodo: I can see the Shire. The Brandywine River. Bag End. Gandalf's fireworks. The lights in the Party Tree. Sam: Rosie Cotton dancing. She had ribbons in her hair. If ever I was to marry someone. It would've been her. It would've been her. Frodo: I'm gald to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things.
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
12. The return of the king
Gandalf: Now come the days of the king. May they be blessed. Aragorn: This day doesn't belong to one man, but to all. Let us together rebuild this world that we may share in the days of peace. (Quenya Words - words spoken by ancestors when they returned to Middle-earth more than 3,000 years ago) Et Earello, Endorenna ut u lien Across the sea I came to Middle-earth Sinome maruvan ar Hildinyar I and my heirs will dwell in this tenn' Ambar-metta forever until Armageddon
-------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------
13. Frodo Baggins
Frodo: How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart, you begin to understand, there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend, some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold.
