Rewatching the first season after many years, looking at each character's initial style of doing things with the known ending of each person can predict the future direction. Several children of the Stark family are representative, and each of them represents a type of people in the real society, but they all circulate in a circle: the ignorant are constantly deceived and betrayed or die or grow up , and then deceive others and betray others and eventually die. I wonder if the few alive still remember the original Northland, the blood flowing in the body, the love and righteousness of the Northland, the Northland people's faithfulness to their promises, and the glory of their ancestors.

Game of Thrones quotes

  • Stannis Baratheon: We march to victory, or we march to defeat. But we go forward. Only forward.

  • Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish: The realm. Do you know what the realm is? It's the thousand blades of Aegon's enemies. A story we agree to tell each other over and over until we forget that it's a lie.

Lord Varys: But what do we have left once we abandon the lie? Chaos? A gaping pit waiting to swallow us all.

Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish: Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb; they refuse. They cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.
