Non, je ne regrette rien

I was looking forward to this movie very much, so I have been ignoring the spoilers, all I want is a surprise. But after watching it tonight, I feel that there are surprises, but if it is measured by points or stars, I don't think it's worth giving too high points.

I haven't seen every Nolan's work, but "The Dark Knight" is really awesome. As I said before, the film over there can be regarded as a classic of commercial films. But there really isn't much to say about this. This question about dreams is obviously not fully discussed here, and if we are familiar with the false and the true, or if we are familiar with things like form, emptiness, emptiness, or Buddha or Dao, the philosophy implied in this film The title is simply not worth mentioning.

Of course, Leonardo's performance is still excellent. Compared with "Shutter Island", the leo in this is finally a little less hysterical. But that also seems to be why I was far less nervous about this film than Shutter Island. Compared with "Shutter Island", I feel that the tension is not enough and the stimulation is not enough.

That said, that's the title of my review. Yes, the song used for awakening in the film and thus recurring, French Non, je ne regrette rien.

Why did you choose this song?

I think it is a problem. Although it seems to be a coincidence, after all, Marion Cotillard, who played leo's wife in the movie, just played the singer piaf in the biographical film. But I don't think there's any point in repeating this song. I haven't read the relevant reports on this point, so I don't know what the director's intention is.

But personally, I still want to understand this movie from this song. After all, the philosophical proposition of this movie cannot be said to be simple, but it is indeed too old-fashioned. So I would rather see other things in it from the movie: those things that are eternal in the movie, or have European and American values, including love, family, and so on.

Leo is going to plant dreams for people. In the end, it's just for selfishness, so that he can return to his family and relieve himself of his guilt towards his wife. In the former sense, he was willing to die for family reunion, and even pulled a group of people to work for him, all of which show that he is sure to go to 18 levels of hell without regrets. But in the latter sense, he first planted a dream for his wife, which resulted in the appearance of the later cups, and he actually regretted it very much. The feeling of regret and no regret alternates, and this is the core feeling of the whole story. And this song called "No, I don't regret it at all", will become the theme of this movie for a while, and it can become a satire for a while.

So, no matter how many layers of dimensions, it is ten thousand layers of dimensions, and what is said here is nothing more than the emotion of a human being in it. Instead of thinking about what's going on in this space, it's better to listen to this touching song in its entirety.

Non ! Rien de rien
Non ! Je ne regrette rien
Ni le bien qu'on m'a fait
Ni le mal tout ?a m'est bien égal !

Non ! Rien de rien
Non ! Je ne regrette rien
C'est payé, balayé , oublié
Je me fous du passé !

  • Eames: Great. Thank you. So, now we're trapped in Fischer's mind battling his own private army, and if we get killed, we'll be lost in limbo till our brains turn to scrambled egg.

  • Arthur: And you! You knew about this and went along with it!

    Yusuf: I trusted him!

Arthur: You trusted him! What, when he promised you half his share?

Yusuf: No, his whole share. Besides he said he'd done it before.

Arthur: You've done it before? What, with Mal? 'Cause that worked so good!

Cobb: That has nothing to do with it. I did what I had to do to get back to my children.
