Of course, Ang Lee is an exception. According to reports, "Pi's Fantasy Drifting" took four years to shoot, and that's not even counting the pre-production. If any director's film requires four or five years to be made, the film's producers and investors will collapse. Although Ang Lee is famous and some people dare to vote, on the other hand, he really pursues art. If he wanted to be like some domestic and international directors, it would be perfectly fine to make one Lunar New Year movie a year, and he might even have the upper hand at the box office, but that's not the case.
And Feng Xiaogang has been like a duck bound by Huayi since "The Banquet". At this time of every year, an epic masterpiece will appear. Feng Xiaogang was originally a director I liked very much, because most of his films have no deep meaning. They just tell a story bluntly, satirize all aspects of today's times, make the audience laugh, and the goal is achieved. . He was not an academic director, so the things he made have a feeling of being close to the people, like Lao She's words, very vernacular. But since the so-called Chinese version of The Prince's Revenge, Feng Xiaogang had to add ideas to his own things as if he was in a middle-aged crisis. His subsequent works, except "If You Are the One", are all hard-boiled.
When it came to "1942", I really couldn't understand it. Feng Xiaogang said that he had waited 18 years for this movie, and it still sounds great, after all, dreams are all great. But the effect that came out, I don't think it's worth it for 18 years for such a thing. The whole movie is to say one word: miserable. If you want to shoot miserably, why not shoot "1962"? Or "1972"? From the beginning to the end, I didn't think about the human nature that the director wanted to express. If I wanted to explore human nature through such a theme, it would be better to make a film that teaches people to protect the environment.
After digressing for so long, I can finally say "Thailand". First of all, this is not a very artistic film, this is a pure comedy, and it can't be kitsch with a little emotional drama, but because it is a pure film, it succeeds. Sometimes when you don't want to express a lot, you already express a lot.
The whole story structure of "Thai Embarrassment" is not much different from the previous one, "People are in Embarrassment", and even many jokes and plots are the same, but the environment is changed. For example, in the last movie, Wang Baoqiang was before boarding Drinking milk turned into swallowing pills. Xu Zheng entered the wrong room in a small guest house and entered the wrong room in a five-star hotel. After the car overturned, the two of them spent the New Year together on the wild fire and roasted snake meat in the mountains of Thailand. Such an old plot still makes the audience laugh, which shows that the audience doesn't care much about the blinding highlights that the filmmakers have to make. In fact, they are more often just looking for a way to relax.
It's just watching a movie, we really don't take it that seriously, and we don't really want to know what profound truth the director wants to tell us. On the contrary, simple things are more acceptable to people, just like the series of "People are in a bad way": there are good people among the little people, don't look for a mistress, and don't neglect your family because of work.
There are also many people comparing "Tai 囧" and "Stone". The two films are actually not comparable. In terms of investment, "Stone" is an Audi built at the price of an Alto, and "Tai 囧". ” is a Mercedes-Benz built with the money of an Audi. What they have in common is this: both are good movies, and both are pure comedies.
This year's New Year's Eve has no fun because of all kinds of thoughts. From Feng Xiaogang's "1942", the human nature is so bad, I'm afraid of my mother, to Lu Chuan's "The King's Feast". . Finally arrived at "Tai 囧" where the world is normal, this is not a society with many ideas, why do you have to add seasoning to it.
I hope more people can watch "Thailand", it can be worth the ticket price.
