It looks much better than "Hundred Birds and the Phoenix". Wu Tianming's film was inferior before or after, just like Chen Kaige's "Farewell My Concubine" and other works. Sometimes you can't ask for more. Whether it's a director, a writer, or a musician, one (first) classic is enough!
