Do you think that "little ancestor" is not at home, can you finally breathe a sigh of relief? Do you think you can relax your mind by handing over your child to the teacher? The following movie is really like a pot of cold water, pouring a chill on the parents' head. Hmm~ It can also be considered to cool down the heat of autumn.
The new Czechoslovakian film is called "The Female Teacher".
Just look at the title, it tells a story that happened in a school, between a female teacher and students. Although the theme of the film does not focus on high-topic vicious events such as corporal punishment and campus sexual assault, the behavior of female teachers is closer to the regular events that often occur in real life. However, the director has the ability to shoot "thunder on the ground".
The story takes place in 1983, and the film opens with two parallel storylines. With quiet music, the rhythm is beautiful and soothing.
In a school, in the same cloakroom, on one side are a group of junior high school children changing their clothes; on the other side are parents hanging their coats and hats. The parents sat in a classroom that looked like they were having a parent-teacher conference. (It seems that parent-teacher conferences are a common educational tradition in many countries.) On the
student side, the new female head teacher Damari is responsible for teaching students Russian, Slovak and history. Teacher Damari has a routine: she takes names and asks the children to stand up and introduce their parents' occupations, and take out a notebook and write it down.
As students introduce their parents, the movie screen simultaneously cuts to the corresponding parents participating in the parent-teacher meeting.
After some introductions, the female teacher knew the situation of the students, and also weighed the students' parents.
The nimble child recognizes the need for a new teacher early on, and eloquently informs himself of the benefits that a parent's occupation can offer a teacher.
There is a sweet girl in the class, Gudanka's mother is a teaching assistant and gymnastics coach, and her father works at the airport.
It turned out that the parents attended a special parent-teacher meeting. The meeting was initiated by a parent, Mrs. Gu, who is Gudanka's mother. The meeting was presided over by the principal, and the head teacher was not present.
At the parent-teacher meeting, the Gu family's parents expressed doubts about Mrs. Ba's daughter's academic performance.
Parents' suspicions are not without reason. Female teacher Damari went to Helen's house and asked Helen's mother, Mrs. Ba, to perm her new hairstyle. It is absolutely impossible to collect money, so in return, the female teacher told Mrs. Ba the quiz questions for the next class in exchange.
During the chat between the two women, the female teacher mentioned that her sister was in Moscow and wanted to send medicine to her, but there was no way to ask for help. Mrs. Ba accidentally mentioned that Gudanka's father works at the airport and can help. The words were right in the heart, and the female teacher Damari took it to heart.
The female teacher, Damari, would call the parents at night and ask the parent, Mr. Ann, to help him fix the lights.
The parent, Mr. Ha, will also be called and asked to deliver noodles and schnitzel, milk and big bones.
The students whose parents were too unable to help were not idle either. In line with the principle of making the best use of everyone, Mrs. Damari asked these children to stay and help themselves with their work. Office, home, classroom, in short, there are no idle resources.
Soon, the female teacher found Gudanka's father and asked his father to help him smuggle the cake by plane to his sister in Moscow. For Mr. Gu, this requirement is a bit too strong. Because he is only an accountant at the airport, he has absolutely no friendship with the crew, and it is illegal to smuggle food abroad. So he refused the request of Teacher Damari.
After being rejected, the female teacher began to report retro danka. Deliberately test her knowledge outside the book, and pick the wrong ones, and give her a failing grade. Since her mother is a part-time gymnastics coach, Gudanka is also practicing gymnastics while studying. Gudanka's grades have affected normal schooling.
But in fact, the mother supervises and checks the study of Gudanka every day. The daughter did not miss her homework.
At the same time, the persevering female teacher did not give up, but sent the cake again and asked Mr. Gu to help. Mr. Gu, who was honest and handed over to him several times at the airport, couldn't help himself to deliver the cake. Had to eat quietly.
Mr. Gu found the female teacher and explained to her the various reasons why he really couldn't help. The female teacher forgave him on the surface, and even apologized for her troublesome behavior.
As a result, the female teacher later called Gudanka's mother and told her about her own affairs, and other parents had already helped to solve it. And inform her again that Gudanka's grades are getting worse and worse, and she is the last in the class.
The girl Gudanka has been eager to prove to the teacher that she is studying hard. However, the female teacher kept ignoring her in class. Finally, Gudanka kept raising his hand to answer, but the teacher named another female classmate. Gudanka said that the girl knew the topic in advance, causing a dispute in the classroom. The female teacher severely criticized her in public and said that she was not expected to study.
After that, Gudanka was reluctant to go to school.
At school, Gudanka was bullied and ridiculed by his classmates because of his poor grades. She will also face being sent to a special school.
That night, Gudanka locked himself in his room and could not come out. When her parents found out, she committed suicide.
Seeing this, some people may ask, why is this female teacher so arrogant and domineering? Because her identity was a Communist, her deceased husband was a senior military officer, and her sister was in Moscow.
Understanding these identities has to do with the contemporary context of Czechoslovakia at the time. At that time, Czechoslovakia had not yet disintegrated. For their country, the Soviet Union was also the same "friendly big brother" as my country, with an unprecedented status.
Therefore, even the principal must be a little bit afraid of her. Even if it doesn't work well, he will leave first.
It is precisely because of the serious student suicide that Mrs. Gu initiated this parent-teacher conference. She asked parents to jointly sign a statement to report the behavior of the female teacher.
At the parent meeting, all kinds of parents came on stage and put on a wonderful show. Parents automatically and spontaneously divided into two factions: the sporadic disadvantaged parents who supported Mr. Gu and the powerful parents who resolutely defended the teacher's position. Some parents also adopted a neutral attitude of silent wait-and-see at the meeting.
The parents of both factions engaged in a heated rebuttal.
First, some parents questioned Mr. Gu's claim that his daughter's poor grades were due to his inability to help.
Then, there are some parents with high positions and a lot of help who resolutely defend the practice of female teachers and criticize Mr. Gu. The parents who supported Mr. Gu and the parents who supported the teacher fought each other.
In the fierce disputes, the contradictions between parents and parents, and the contradictions between students and classmates, are intertwined. All the ugly acts of the female teacher were also fully exposed.
Willfully humiliating students, persecuting their parents, and using their status as teachers to demand things from their parents, making them even more oppressive. And Gudanka's suicide was caused by her series of perseverance.
She also framed and imposed trumped-up charges on children whose parents did not help.
In addition to asking the parent of a retired boxer to fix her washing machine, she even flirted with a parent of a single male. The male parent used to be an astrophysics teacher, Mr. Li, who was implicated by his wife to go abroad, and was charged with treason and became a glass-cabin worker. The widowed female teacher wishful thinking that they are sympathetic and should tie the knot.
Mr. Li was very disturbed.
At the parent-teacher meeting, the principal announced that Damari deceived the students, that Gudanka's IQ test score was not the last in the class, and that the pass rate of Damari's class in the entrance exam was less than 15%, while the average pass rate of the whole school The rate is 50%.
In the end, however, the parent-teacher association's efforts were ineffective. Only four people signed the paperwork reporting Damari's incompetence as a teacher.
Unexpectedly, after the meeting, many parents filed into the principal's office and silently signed a joint signature. The rescued Gudanka also woke up.
As a result, Mr. Damari was suspended from teaching, and the students rejoiced.
In the end, the three children who were criticized the most by Damari's teacher in the film turned out to be excellent when they grew up and made achievements in their respective fields.
At the end of the film, the new semester has begun, and the bad teacher Damari is still active on the podium.
After watching the film, the whole film obviously does not have any horror scenes such as bloody brutality, but it makes people feel deeply shuddered.
