In fact, it is difficult to judge whether such a film is good or bad. Feng Xiaogang fully and completely showed the truth of the drought in 1942 (of course, I hope it is all the truth), but the story is so moving, so touching, and so on. No, I think people who like Feng's comedy will not like this movie, because it is not only unhappy, but also cruel and bloody, showing a lot of the dark side of human nature. Personally, I am very grateful to Director Feng, because he used his influence to give today's Chinese people the opportunity to face up to this cruel history, so that these 3 million starved souls will no longer be so easily wiped out. I think this is the greatest significance of this film. As for other things, there is no need to discuss how the script is, how it is filmed, and how it is performed.
ps I really want to know what kind of movie would it be if Feng Xiaogang could make it into 1942 18 years ago
ps2: When will Chinese movies be graded, although many scenes in this movie are very obscure, it still needs parental guidance, no ?
