day and night in paris

On the last day of 2019, I watched a niche movie "Someone, Somewhere", I liked it very much, and I said goodbye to this year. It's a European movie with a totally different experience from Hollywood popcorn. There is no visual stimulation, no complicated plot, and some are more emotional stories. The male protagonist is a young man who can't even speak because he is unemployed, and faints in the subway, and the female protagonist is a young man who is anxious because of the pressure of project reporting at work. They all have sleep problems, they all go to psychiatrists, they often stand on the balcony smoking/daze, they all go to the same supermarket, they even have the same cat. In the end they attended the same dance training class and became partners. The story ends here.

It's not about meeting for the sake of meeting, it's not about being lonely for the sake of talking about loneliness, but every episode reminds me of myself or the people around me. Delicate, ordinary, delicate, vivid, and the background music is very nice, which is my favorite literary tune.

I'm not a person who likes pets, but the cat in it made me fall in love with it, and I want to have one. Because it is so lively and lovely, humane, and very healing. Now suddenly it's understandable why some people want pets instead of children.

The conversation with the psychiatrist, which is self-exploration, makes the heroine discover that only by learning to love herself more can she love others. The panic of the male protagonist may be from the shadow of his sister's death that year. They all have to let go of the entanglement of the past in order to face the future bravely.

Instead of making it easier for us to build meaningful relationships, the convenience brought about by high technology has made human relationships superficial.

I've always liked movies set in cities. Every city has a unique character. Parisian day and night, light and shadow, both ancient and modern. Although the protagonists are depressed, the color of the entire film is not gray, but a romantic blue-green room and a warm dark-yellow supermarket. This is a warm city.
