"The Lu Ding Ji" is a martial arts comedy adapted from Jin Yong's novel. The film was directed by Wang Jing and co-starred by Stephen Chow, Wu Mengda, Wen Zhaolun, Brigitte Lin, Li Jiaxin, Yuan Jieying, Qiu Shuzhen and Chen Derong. The film tells the story of the early Qing Dynasty, when Emperor Kangxi was young, and the traitor Ao Bai controlled the regime. Wei Xiaobao was fortunate to join the "Tiandihui", a civil organization that overthrew the Qing Dynasty, and was sent to the palace as an undercover agent to steal the 42-chapter scriptures that contained the secrets of the Qing Dynasty. Wei Xiaobao soon became the emperor's confidant and became a high-ranking official. He was in a dilemma when he wanted to perform a task but became a good friend with the emperor.
