Care for the heart, sad but not sad

Xu Qinhao's works are very in line with the Korean aesthetic in my mind, clean and restrained. The story is not tortuous. Along with time, there are shallow joys and sorrows that flow quietly. Han Shigui is a typical Korean man. He is not tall and handsome, but his face is soft and his eyebrows are always smiling. Suffering from a serious illness, single, having an unsuccessful relationship, guarding a photo studio. So I got to know the traffic policeman Shen Yinhe, oh, Shen's beauty has a compelling momentum, but unfortunately I only discovered it now. Gradually, there was a subtle feeling between the two, but Han didn't tell Shen that he would die soon and eventually lost news of each other. This unending encounter is told so peacefully that all the pain and melancholy are vague.

The movie is like a portrayal of ordinary life, with no ups and downs. Han cooks with his father, and his sister sometimes comes to take care of him. When you meet an old lover, there is not much to say. When I take the bus, I think that everything will pass, including love. I taught my father to press the remote control, because my father learned not to suddenly get angry, because he was worried that his father would not be able to take care of him after he left. Waking up in the middle of the night and quietly lying beside my father, it was a strong and silent emotion. Hiding in the quilt made a suppressed cry, and the figure of the father outside the door paused and left. Eat ice cream with Shen and go to the playground. When he woke up in the hospital, he was smiling because of a dream. Seeing the letter Shen wrote to himself, he also wrote a reply, but did not send it. After she was discharged from the hospital, she couldn't find Shen in the transferred area. She looked everywhere and saw her in the cafe. She put her hand on the glass as if she was on that person. (The picture above) At the end of the movie, Shen saw his photo in the display window and left with a smile.

Such beautiful details of the shooting, people can not help but immersed in it. Annie wrote her heart to care, sad but not hurt. Feelings are the emotions that this movie conveys to me. Death does not necessarily require an expression of mourning, it is also a sincere remembrance.

Christmas in August quotes

  • Jung-won: [Sitting on a rubber tire in his old school playground] When I was a kid I always sat alone in the playground after the other boys had gone. Thinking about my late mother, it struck me that we'd all disappear in the end... my father, my sister, all my best friends.

Jung-won: [narrating] I always knew that feelings of love would fade - just like old photographs. But for you... you will always remain in my heart, as you are in my last moment. Thank you, and goodbye.
