First of all, the main story of the film does not actually happen in the real physical space, it is the fast flashback at the end of the film. Instead, the protagonist's mind (or part of his consciousness) is trapped in this virtual space due to an accident (negligent death) at a specific time and place.
Only people in this virtual space can live well, with guilt or a sense of guilt, can they provide people in the real world with the energy and material for a good life (in the words of Robert, the old man in red). And once they get out of this infinite predicament, on the one hand, they will fall into another infinite loop dilemma, and on the other hand, in the real world, they will begin to lead an unsatisfactory and even miserable life (breakup drinking, committing suicide in prison, etc.). So the older one in the second 35 years of life will warn the younger one in the first 35 years of predicament not to go out!
And eggs. When the time is up, the old one dies, as if the conditions are ripe, and the new one cannot bear the temptation to escape and repeat the mistakes of the previous protagonist. This is the so-called Zen Buddhism, "It is easy to walk under the thorns, but it is difficult to turn around under the moonlight curtain." And this time, in the second 35-year cycle, they also lost the positivity and self-discipline of the previous time, and could only wait to die.
Therefore, the unexpected space is actually a closed mind place where negative emotions (guilt and self-blame, etc.) are placed, so that we can live well in the real world. And once it is broken (as if it must be broken), it is as if a person reaches middle age and loses his old ambitions and puts everything to rest.
Of course, the film also used a lot of small props such as bamboo chips, playing cards, hair, hamsters, little red books and other clues as the series and hints of different characters. This statement is for reference only.
