Rails: The first half of a boatman's life and NPCs are stuck on a train that never stops.
On the sea: The boatman's second half of his life and the red-clothed fat man's first half of his life were trapped on the bamboo raft, and the fat man's friend died because of the boatman's mistake.
Highway: Fat Man's second half of his life and policeman Daniel's first half of his life were stuck on a circular highway, and Daniel's sister died because of Fat Man's mistake.
Staircase: The second half of the policeman's life and the first half of the waiter's life were trapped in the stairwell. The policeman made a mistake (the mistake or the intention is not clear) and shot the waiter's brother.
Corridor: The second half of the waiter's life and the first half of the bride's life are stuck in the hotel aisle, because the waiter's mistake (not a mistake, more intentional here) leads to the death of the groom.
Escalator: The bride's second half of her life and NPC are stuck on the escalator? It's hard to imagine what the scene is.
However, this is just a kind of confusion and self-blame in the characters' hearts, or an infinite loop of magnifying a small mistake they once made, and falling into an infinite loop.
Fatty's childhood friend, the policeman's sister, the waiter's brother, and the groom have all been treated, and the first half of their lives have gone smoothly. They won't be stuck somewhere for the rest of their lives because of their mistakes.
The bamboo knots and little pokers that came out of nowhere indicate that the protagonists don't remember the plight of their first half of their lives, but just the plight of another older protagonist.
So, I think it can be interpreted as the confusion of the inner world or the parallel world.
