Still at least one grade worse

I watched "Two Smoking Guns" in the afternoon, and came back in the evening to watch "Crazy Stone". "Two Smoking Guns" is a "recommendation" of course, and I gave this film a "recommendation" because it is really good. But compared to "Two Smoking Guns", it is still at least one grade lower, so I can only say that we will continue to work hard. Enough has been said about the goodness of it, I don't need to go into details. Just pick some bad ones.

First, let's talk about the method. I think Director Ning uses different narrative angles to deconstruct an event that happened at the same time. If he only uses it once, it is really good (such as the crash at the beginning or the crash at the end), but if he uses it too much, he is a little suspicious of his ability. Because he couldn't explain the matter all at once, so he had to divide it into several times, and it wouldn't matter if there were too many tricks like this. When "Two Smoking Guns" reached its climax, the director still unfolded it directly in chronological order, and explained the story through clever editing and switching, including the crash scene. I think this is the skill. Another example is that Director Ning likes to put several pictures together. Except for the final scene where the robber and Xu Zheng are fighting each other well, he doesn't feel bad about other places. Wouldn't it be better to use parallel montages or camera changes? Of course, that requires very clever editing and scheduling skills.

Let's talk about the rhythm of the movie. I remember watching "Two Smoking Guns", I kept a posture and mood that wanted to laugh and couldn't help laughing from beginning to end. Even when I was laughing, I didn't go too far. This is because the rhythm was well grasped. , the use of any jokes does not make people feel abrupt. And "Crazy Stone", when it was the most powerful, my stomach hurt from laughing (the part where the factory manager answered the kidnapping call), and sometimes it would be dull for several minutes, and it was a little tasteless. Having said that, those jokes are really effective in Chongqing dialect! In fact, the British humor in "Two Smoking Guns" is also quite in place, giving the film a "Made in England" label.

And there's the imagery. I feel that the picture is very dirty, and many pictures are unstable and not good-looking. If it is not deliberate like the underground director, it is a problem of the cameraman's level. I can't grasp the music either. The music style of the whole movie is messy, and there is no overall sense. It seems that I just use whatever music comes to my mind. The scene alone may be very good, but it is not the case when you look at it together. , the collage marks are too heavy, but I especially like the ending song. As for the music used in "Two Smoking Guns", I feel that it runs through the rock style of the 1960s and 1970s (maybe not that era), and the images also match the nostalgic texture and a rebellious atmosphere, so It is also very good to use it alone to make a soundtrack for a movie. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to do it if I hadn't grown up in a rock jar.

From Director Ning's Blog, he personally likes Director Gai's style, but in the process of filming, he deliberately avoided the similarity with Director Gai, and he hopes to establish his own style of comedy. But as the filming progresses, the style still tends to be directed by Gai Dao, perhaps the technique used by Gai Dao is the best choice for this kind of film (paraphrased). So what I want to say is that Chinese directors, especially the directors of the new generation, want to go a long way, they must work hard on their personal qualities and cultural accomplishment, come on!
