It's all a dream

Every time I watch Kim Ki-duk's movies, I always think for a long time, which is depressing and thought-provoking. The strong Changwu and the weak mother, the father with military merit and the weak son Changhua, the mother and daughter Enluo, who are struggling to survive on the pension of the father who died in battle. The family behind each protagonist reflects the weak side of their character and the final decision they make about their fate. The strong Changwu hated the humiliation his mother brought him, and used violence to vent his hatred, but he couldn't bear to hurt the dog. At the last goodbye, I whispered in my mother's ear in English, letting go of my hatred for my mother and the grudge against my father, who I had never met, and decided to die. From beginning to end, what Changwu longed for was his mother's love and a good life! And his mother, who never looked back to see his son, eventually set herself on fire and died in a dream. The weak Changhua has always been bullied, and he is helpless in the face of the tarnished girl he likes. Obviously, as long as he is a little brave, he can have a good ending with Enluo. I really hate this cowardly. people! Even though the two scumbags who raped Enlo finally beat and abolished the American soldier, I can't forgive his cowardice! In fact, he has his father's ruthlessness and persistence in his bones, but he broke out too late too late. Sad for its unfortunate anger and indisputable! ! Enluo, because her right eye was accidentally injured by her brother when she was a child, has always been inferior and withdrawn. At this time, there is an American soldier who can protect her. Although she has to endure his violence and suspicion occasionally, she has healed her eyes! When she finally walked up to Changhua with a smile, this dog man! Turn away! gone! ! I'm furious! ! In the end, Enluo used a knife to stab her eyes that had been healed by the American soldier, which frightened this Oedipus male soldier to the point of shit. Some people in the film critics said that the film alludes to the relationship between countries. It is indeed very vivid, but what I see more is the extreme depression and distortion of human nature in the context of the times. Just like all the protagonists in the film, when it is time to resist, they choose to be submissive, and they can only end in a tragic way.

I admire Kim Ki-duk's portrayal of women, men's desires for women, and desires for family relationships... All kinds of desires are intertwined, and finally they create vivid individuals.
