Thanks to Zhihu Salt Salon, I was fortunate enough to participate in the screening event of "Long Time" organized by Zhihu with my husband. I saw the movie in advance, and met director Wang Xiaoshuai and the new actor Zhao Yanguozhang. The outline of the story will not be repeated, and some fragmentary feelings will be written and shared with you.
1. About the movie
There is a question on Zhihu, "Which moment makes you feel that all living beings are suffering". When I was watching the movie, I was thinking, if I ask Liu Yaojun this question, he is afraid that he will answer "every moment is bitter". Time stopped, but it stopped at the most painful moment.
Liu Xing accidentally drowned. This family, including Li Haiyan's family, Jasmine, and adopted son Liu Xing, all sank to the bottom of the river with Liu Xing, and could never breathe. It's not that they never struggled, but after their adopted son Liu Xing left, Yaojun and Liyun gave up even this struggle.
In the past days, it was tight but also lively. The two families rowed and took photos together, the three families celebrated their birthdays together, danced and listened to songs, and the small tube building was full of fireworks. As soon as Liu Xing died, all the freshness turned into smoke, Yaojun and Liyun were completely silent, and their days became dry silence. The people and things of the past cannot be touched at all, so I have to go far away, to a city where I can't remember the past, and then I can barely live. But why go around and come to the city by the water again. In the past, he stretched out his hand and brought Jasmine and the child, and Liyun had no choice but to commit suicide. So, can't think, can't think, can't think. No, the days can go on.
From Liyun's suicide and being admitted to the hospital to Haiyan's discharge after brain tumor surgery, the two hospitals were separated by more than ten years, and the movie did not give any clips to tell. It was not until Yaojun Liyun returned to his hometown after more than ten years and reconciled with Haiyan Haohao. It seemed that the two of them were much more peaceful. Coupled with the birth of Haohao's child, I thought life was finally kind to Yaojun Liyun. As a result, Sonny appeared and watched as the two of them were hit to the bottom of the river by a pole again. Seeing this makes me feel bad, Sonny is a mixed race, is he cruel or kind to Liu Yaojun?
Fortunately, Liu Xing finally called, and with the sound of "Dad", Yaojun and Liyun, who were sinking at the bottom of the river, finally surfaced in one breath.
2. About actors and lines
1. Wang Jingchun's acting skills are too moving, and the Berlin actor deserves his name.
2. Meiyu's acting is really good. In such a depressing story, she is alive and full of fireworks. Outside the ward of Haiyan and Liyun's hug and crying, without a single line, I burst into tears.
3. Personally, I have a little consideration, whether Yongmei's back is too straight. The bottom working class, who have worked all their lives, generally have hunched backs. But on second thought, Liyun and Yaojun belonged to the educated youth returning to the city. They listened to Soviet songs, kept their house clean, and dressed neatly. Thinking that they were born in the city, they may not be cultural people, and their backs were stretched.
4. Some of the lines need to be further polished. They are too deliberate, not words that can be said in life, which leads to a bit of drama.
3. About the interview
1. Director Wang Xiaoshuai has a strong desire to survive, and he is calling on everyone to help promote the film. Compared with the previous interview with Director Bi Gan organized by Zhihu Salt Salon, Bi Gan believes that he relies on craftsmanship to eat, and even during the publicity period, he did not put on any gestures to please him. The response was very rude. Director Wang Xiaoshuai is more like an adult's attitude towards doing things, and he makes money with peace of mind. No matter how well he answers the questions, he can always go all the way to his own movies.
2. Do interviews after watching the movie. The questions are almost all around the movie, and the focusing effect is better. Compared with Bi Gan's event, he did not watch the film, but had a direct conversation. The questions were more divergent, and some of the on-site questions even felt as if they were asked.
3. Some impressive clips from the interview with director Wang Xiaoshuai and actor Zhao Yanguozhang:
(1) The audience asks: why the walls of the old house in the movie are not mottled and look new.
Director Wang Xiaoshuai replied: It looks like an old house now, but in the movie, it was a newly built house at that time. Someone lived there, so it was clean.
Then he complained about his mother. When I was a child, I thought other people's houses were clean, but his house was messy. By the way, he praised the art team and the props team. He knocked on the door from house to house to find props. The props were piled up in the 2,000-square-meter warehouse, and he chose from them. For example, when Yaojun met Jasmine in the hotel, the small folded scissors hanging on his belt belonged to that era.
(2) Question from the audience: Is there anything worth presenting on the screen of the current Internet phenomenon?
Director Wang Xiaoshuai replied: He wanted to have a meal at the New York airport, but he ordered it on the self-service screen.
(3) The audience said that there are three laughs in the film.
Director Wang Xiaoshuai doesn't think "Long Time" is a crying movie, nor a laughing movie. He doesn't know much about the three laughing points, and he specifically asked the audience to repeat which three laughing points are.
(4) Audience question: Why is Sonny a mixed race.
Director Wang Xiaoshuai replied: Everyone's life is difficult, if you don't want it, of course others will do it.
(5) In the film, "The Adventure of a Bus" is mentioned. The two middle-aged and elderly men are very enthusiastic and enthusiastically introduce it.
(6) A girl said that she participated in a survey on family planning and interviewed an obstetrician and gynecologist. When family planning was at its peak, she had to perform 70 or 80 abortions every day. As a result, after letting go of the second child a few years ago, I couldn't bear it, and I believed in Buddhism. Wang Xiaoshuai said that this problem is very serious and respects her work.
(7) Director Wang Xiaoshuai talked about going to the grave. He originally wanted the two actors to climb the mountain to see the location of the grave in advance, but the two of them were too lazy to go. Wang Jingchun took Yongmei and walked to the grave. With an "oh", Director Wang Xiaoshuai felt it was right, he just sat behind the camera and cried all the time, completely ignoring how the two actors acted. If you don't call Ka, the actors are a little confused and don't know what to do until the assistant director calls Ka.
