Suspected spoilers. After watching several films and TV series adapted from the Dragon Quest, what I can confirm is that this movie is undoubtedly the best adaptation.
The image of Hu Bayi played by Chen Kun was completely beyond my expectations. Hu Bayi was an educated youth, went to the countryside, went to the battlefield, and read Mao's poems well, but he appeared in front of him with a shaggy face. It is this beard that conceals the temperament of Chen Kun's own jade-faced scholar, and I can understand the director's intentions. Hu Bayi is not bad, he can't think that this is Jin Yanxi from Jinfenshi's family.
Wang Kaixuan, a fat man in the original book. Huang Bo's body shape doesn't want to be fat, but his acting skills are very good, which can cover this up.

Among the few female characters in the ab film, the rural appearances in the memories are not bad, and the appearances in the coffin are slightly scary.
Liu Xiaoqing's strength is really dragged down by plastic surgery, and he plays a villain who is rambunctious. Unfortunately, there is not much expression on his face. Other performances and lines are online.
The special effects and scenes in the film are well done, the touch of gold and the compass are done very finely, all kinds of details fit the nature of the original, and the whole play is not nervous. This is the real touch of gold.
