Of the three samurai films by Yoji Yamada, this is the most compact overall. "Samurai's Point" tells the story of a samurai who was blinded by the lord's poison test and defeated the person who cheated and insulted his wife in a duel, maintaining the samurai's dignity and family. Compared with the other two samurai movies, the advantages of this one are very obvious, the main body of the story is clear, that is, a samurai takes revenge in a predicament. Coupled with the love theme that Yoji Yamada is keen to depict, in his samurai movies, the wife is always willing to give everything for her husband. The disadvantage is that this is also the most mediocre of the three samurai movies. It does not have the strong sense of the times of the decline of the samurai in the other two movies, nor is it as complex and tragic as the characters in those two movies. Instead, it simply defeats the villain.
