Hold the hand of the son, bear the sorrow of the king

"One Point of a Samurai", Kimura's transformational work, is also quite exquisite. It's hard to find that handsome guy with long, fluttering hair in this sad-heavy film. In its place is Shinnokomi Mimura, a samurai who is blind. "One point", translated into Chinese means "dignity".
Although Mimura is a samurai, his status is the lowest, and he can only do the work of testing poison for the lord. Although he is humble, Mimura and his wife Kayo and old servant Tokunaga live peacefully and peacefully. Even when Kayo knew that what her husband did was not to enjoy the meal with the lord, the two still mocked each other very warmly. Sancun has a humble but warm ideal, that is to open a gym with his wife in seclusion and teach a group of little warriors, no matter what kind of children can learn, in Sancun's eyes, everyone is equal.
But all of these disappeared because of an accident. Mimura was poisoned by shellfish during the poison test. Although his body was cured, he was left with the sequelae of blindness. In the eyes of Mimura, the blind samurai was undoubtedly a waste. So he thought of suicide by caesarean section, the most popular and respectable method of death among samurai. But Kadai's tears made him unable to start.
In order to make a living, Kadai sought help from Murato on Fantou Island, but was deceived and humiliated. Mimura, who learned the truth, quit Kadai and lived a humiliating life. Later, when he heard that his status was not due to Shimamura Fuji's help, Mimura challenged Shimura Fuji with his guilt towards his wife and insistence on "one point" for himself.
I like the ending very much. Mimura recognized his wife who was pretending to be a maid because of the taste of the food. They bought a new bird cage and started a new life.
After watching the movie, I feel that this whole is a living portrayal of the society of the Japanese samurai era. No, in fact, such a situation makes sense in any country in any era. Strangers can help and sympathize with each other, but relatives are eager to draw a line from their loved ones in distress. A virtuous person is always a hypocrite. Compared to Sancun Xinzhi's letter, what is their "one point"?
Kayo endured great grief and committed himself to Shimamura Fuji, a sad woman who cannot change anything for herself or others. She exchanged her body for her husband for 20 bags of rice a year. She thought she had won it for her husband, but the clinker was a complete scam. Fortunately, after the end of Mimura's revenge, she did not tell her the truth, thank Mimura for allowing a woman to continue to live well.
Also impressed are the relatives of Sancun. His aunt went all the way to Sancun's residence to tell Sancun how low his wife was, and the contempt in her tone and eyes was obvious. In fact, compared to the blind Mimura they abandoned, Kadai is the purest woman in the world. She is hardworking, kind, and willing to do anything for her husband. In such an era when women have no status at all, no one has the right to criticize Jiadai's actions.
I can't write anymore, it's so frustrating. For the plus generation, but also for the three villages.
Fortunately, although the final song is still the main theme of sadness, there is also a glimmer of hope hidden in it.
Jiadai, three villages; holding the hand of the son, Chengjun grief.
