I think as a woman, I can understand that feeling. Snowflake is beautiful and kind, but she is married to an uneducated butcher, and the sadness in Lily's heart is obvious. And seeing the joy of their sex, Lily's reaction is also sad, it is not right for Snowflake's body to be possessed by that person, it is a kind of blasphemy. The touching of her body can of course be understood as her own sexual desire at that time. A more reasonable explanation is a simulation of the two people downstairs. She feels what Snowflake feels in this way and shares the pain for her. This is my idea.
In the part of Xuehua's death, the tears originally wanted to fall, but they went back. It's really because the director's grasp of the story is not in place, and he made some clear soup and water.
First of all, there are some problems with the plot. (i) First of all, as a student who just took the college entrance examination last year, I really can't understand Nina's behavior of taking the exam. Although it is a sisterhood, at least integrity is the foundation of human beings. (ii) If it is understandable to say that Snowflake's distance from Lily is due to the difference in status, then Sophia's distance from Nina is really confusing because of the prospect of going to New York and so on. (iii) Wu Junmei, the aunty character, did not see what she did. Indeed, she made the two become old friends, but she successfully changed her identity to detective after that, which did not promote the development of the story. I have to say that it is disappointing. (iv) The plots of two girls getting married in both eras are a bit far-fetched. The first pair is probably due to customs, but the explanation of their friendship is not full enough and lacks plot; the second pair is even more inexplicable when they are old friends, just Sophia's mother's mother's mother's mother (there are a few I forgot ) habit, which has continued to this day, is always difficult to accept.
Then there's the characterization. I think the ancient couple is obviously better than the current one. Whether it's Li Bingbing or Jun Zhixian's role, although the director's focus may be more modern, Sophia and Nina always make me feel unnatural.
There seems to be too much to say about this movie. From the experience of Xuehua and Lily, we can see the low social status of women in the old times and the powerlessness of resistance, such as binding feet, looking for a husband's family, Xuehua's family failure and later marrying a butcher and losing a child. From the comparison of the two, it can be seen that things are impermanent. From the young Nina and Sophia, we can see the yearning for freedom, and from the diligent Nina, we can draw the conclusion that people have to struggle. And of course there is the theme of the most important of women's camaraderie. But the film tragically became a hodgepodge of unknowns.
But what I can see from this movie is that Li Bingbing said it at the end. I can't remember the original words. It probably means that she doesn't understand the true meaning of feelings. It was like that with Lily, and it was like that with Nina.
Snowflake said that when Lily entered her house, there was sympathy in her eyes. After that, Lily asked Snowflake to take care of Snowflake and her children, but Snowflake refused. Xuehua said that the relationship between her and Lily is indeed important, but there are more important things. I don't quite understand what she is referring to. It may be the responsibility of a wife and a mother. Then she said that Lily didn't understand this feeling because her husband never said he loved her.
It's a lot of fun between Lily and her husband. Xiangyan holding her feet when she first entered the bridal chamber, remarking when women don't have to worry about the outside world, and his casual and disdainful expression when the villagers came to visit the new Mrs. Lu, I always thought he was There is a real separation between Lily and Lily, which is what Snowflake said. (Although I don't know a man either, I didn't see that her husband loves him) But it's obvious that Lily's love has never been "self". On this aspect of Snowflake, her sympathy, her demands, are all she thinks right, but she doesn't consider Snowflake; on her husband's side, she doesn't know what true love is, and her lack of understanding of her husband is also the kind of "Self" love of the one-man show. But the difference between the two is that Lily is strong to Snowflake, so this is the case; while Lily is weak to her husband, so this is the case.
In modern times, Nina's love still bears such traces. Sophia said that no one asked her to take care of herself, which is angry, but it may also be what she really wants to express. Nina could not prove that the club owner was bad, so she interfered with her relationship. The conversation outside the bathroom made me feel like I was back in Europe a long time ago, with the protagonist replaced by a noble lady and her guardian. Nina is still strong towards Sophia at this time, with a self-centred love.
In fact, the reason for this tragedy is that Lily and Nina do not understand what love is, although they do have love.
As for Jun Ji Hyun's sister's role, I prefer Snowflake. Snowflake is independent in its interaction with Lily. However, Sophia moved out of the apartment and lost her child. It was a Mary sue feeling, which was neither touching nor real.
All in all, if the director, screenwriter, etc. knew more about women's stories, this movie would be better.
