Art is not necessarily niche

Brought this film from BR. I never thought I would like an ethical film about the boring life after marriage that was so simple that it could not be simpler. As a result, I felt that I was deeply stuck and couldn't help myself. I saw the giant whale and squid at the end of the film without feeling cold.

The performances of the heroes and heroines are impeccable, and the convincing even makes me think they should perform so well. If I hadn’t watched the interview with them in Special Features, I would have felt that the middle-aged man with shaved beard and plainly dressed eyes had sharp eyes. The middle-aged woman in the movie is the husband and wife in the film, so she should seduce female students and instigate her son; she should cheat, she should be in his arrogance and ignoring her husband’s efforts.

So I should like the younger son's actors more, because of his age and the maturity and symbolism that are incompatible with him, I also should like the elder son's girlfriend, so fragile and sympathetic. The heart thus captured me easily.

The four-person family who divorced and jointly custodial children, the last scene of the aquarium regained its spiritual strength. Jesse is very handsome in it, Jeff Daniels will be popular in 2009

As he ran, I panicked. They were so entangled that I couldn't get close to the museum twice. Being able to safely examine one's own fears is the power and limitation of the film. I heard about you in the past, and those who can't bear to watch it will eventually see it, thank you Noah Baumbach.

The Squid and the Whale quotes

  • Bernard Berkman: She's a very risky writer, Lili. Very racy. I mean, exhibiting her cunt in that fashion is very racy. I mean Lili has her influences in post modern literature, it's a bit derivative of Kafka, but for a student, very racy. Did you get that it was her cunt?

  • Sophie: Yeah. I mean, it's gross when he turns into the bug, but I love how matter of fact everything is.

Walt Berkman: Yeah, it's very Kafkaesque.

Sophie: [She looks at him oddly. She laughs] Cause it's written by Franz Kafka.

Walt Berkman: Right. I mean, clearly.
