Feelings of "Blurred Time and Space"

To say that this drama is really the ancestor of many science fiction films nowadays, it is still borrowed from it, but it has never been surpassed, and it emphasizes the feeling of horror and the unknown, and at the same time, I want to give the audience a little thought as much as possible.

Before Rod Serlin was called "the creator of the blurred time and space," his nickname was Hollywood angry youth, which is not nonsense. He participated in World War II and experienced the horror and meaninglessness of war in the jungles of Papua New Guinea; he was interested in science fiction since he was a child, and he is also interested in political issues as an adult. The combination of these forms the main themes of this play: anti-war, the trauma that war brings to people, and the role of people in war. The differences between individuals and groups. Human loneliness. The position of mankind in the universe, mankind's cognition of the universe. Alien aggression. Finally, pure horror stories and a few amusing stories also exist.

Many actors have participated in this series. Among them are Jack Krugman (the juror No. 5 in Twelve Wrath, he played three different roles), Burgess Meredith (that of Rocky A coach, he played four roles), Martin Ballsam (Juror No. 1), a large number of Western actors, etc. Basically, they were not well-known at the time, and only a few were already famous guest appearances. In fact, with the broadcast of the series, guest actors have become more and more famous. In the fourth quarter, Dennis Hopper, who was only in his twenties, appeared.

The photography of the blurred time and space often has a very unique feeling. Some shots are very similar to the scenes in the German expressionist films of the 1920s-sharp contrasts of light and dark, tilted lenses, and weird shadows. The soundtrack is also in line with the atmosphere of this series, including Hitchcock’s Queen’s soundtrack Bernard Herman (Terror), and avant-garde composer Jerry Goldsmith (Planet of the Apes 68, Star Trek movie version first Department).

It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
