The film starts with two narrative lines: the marriage of Li Lizhong and Zhou Yufang, and the confusion of Shu'an and Xiaoqiang. The narrative is mainly based on the marriage line of Li and Zhou. The film gives 2 different outcomes with an open ending: Li Sha lost everyone, walked down the street in despair, and released Buddha, a corpse without a soul.

At the end of the movie, Li Si was by the bathtub, the sound of blood dripping, when Cai Qin's singing slowly sounded, the picture cut to the picture of Zhou Pregnancy vomiting, and the ending of the film. This ending may imply that a sad soul leaves the world, and an innocent life is about to begin, which seems to give the whole story a little hope, but it is so weak. No matter what the outcome is, there is no point in tangling. No amount of possibility is just a tragedy.

The film reflects the fact that the Taiwanese middle class was constantly under the pressures of career, marriage, and family. They were all looking for a break in life, an outlet; some chose to cheat, while others could only come from sha escape.Xiaoqiang and Shu'an reflect the confusion and anxiety of young people.

Director Yang is good at multi-line narrative; in Li Zhou's marriage line, Li has a stable job, and Zhou has his own hobbies and writing. They are a typical middle-class family and should have a happy life, but their married life is like a cup of tea. Without the taste of boiled water, the relationship between husband and wife is like a stranger. Li is a completely rational and pragmatic person. And Zhou is getting married, writing novels, and having children for a new beginning. It can be seen that Zhou is a bit more idealistic. In my perception, idealistic people are also extremely contradictory because they want to be consistent with reality. I struggle to live a stable life, and I am afraid of a mediocre daily life. The starting points of the two people are also completely different. In fact, the two people's values are completely different.

Zhou Yufang

A terrorist is not just one person, but everyone in the repressed, crisis-ridden society that lives in it. Shu An, who makes trouble and plays fairy dance; Li framed friends and colleagues for the sake of his future; Zhou, because of his dream of a young woman in literature and art, was detached from her husband after marriage, and was unwilling to display the torture of communication spirit; the old man who destroyed other people's families; his attitude towards his girlfriend The second generation is rich. Everyone is imperfect and selfish. Perhaps the real terrorist is life itself! Director Yang is known as the scalpel of Taiwanese society. The film's doubts and reflections on urban life, despair and helplessness, and the analysis of the current society are incomplete.

Share Zhou Yufang's lines in the movie: When I got married, I thought it was a new beginning; I wanted to have a child, I thought it was a new beginning; I started writing a novel again, and I hoped it was a new beginning; I decided to leave you, it was also a new beginning. When you talk about this, will you understand? You just understand the things that you are accustomed to, day after day, repeated over and over again. I am locked in that small room every day, just to avoid those same repetitions. These Do you understand? You don't understand, that's the biggest difference between us. " (Zhou and Li can't say who is right and who is wrong; everyone's lifestyle and attitude are different.)

Li Lizhong

Finally, Cai Qin's "Please Pretend You Will Reluctant Me" added a lot of color to the movie when it sounded slowly towards the end, allowing the film's emotions to continue.
