This ending...

Would a tragic ending be better?

The director seems to be very enthusiastic about the happy ending, and as a kind audience I hope for a happy reunion.

However, is this sublimation a bit far-fetched? The happy ending came a bit abruptly.

On the contrary, the wives and ions are scattered, and they all die, which seems to make the whole film rise to a higher level. It also fits the tone of the entire film.

After watching it, I realized that not all movies have to have a happy ending to make people happy!
