It is said that Hong Sangxiu is the No. 1 literary director in Korea. In my opinion, his films give people the feeling that they transcend the reality of literature and art. However, Director Hong's unique style is not my thing.
A director met a woman in Suwon. The two started with a bottle of banana milk. Then they went to the cafe to drink coffee, to the studio to paint and drink tea, to a Korean restaurant for dinner and drinking, and then to a farmer and a fisherman to eat and drink. In the movie For an hour, it was shown that the two had feelings for each other because of their loneliness. Those subtle changes were well demonstrated in the unique film style of Hong Sangxiu's straightforward promotion. At the end, he was a little moved.
Then in the second hour of the movie, the two do it all over again from the beginning.
In the first paragraph, the woman hooks up with the director because of her loneliness and love, and her attitude changes suddenly after learning that the director is married.
In the second paragraph, the director reveals his married status at the beginning, and then expresses his admiration for the woman and wants to marry her, but it is impossible, then marry her in your heart.
In the end, this renewed relationship has only one result. The director returned to Seoul, and Suwon was just a chance encounter.

Loneliness can be scary, a reality that everyone can't avoid, and having the courage to express your inner feelings to strangers who have feelings is one way to overcome fear, which is probably what Hong Sang-soo's film is about.
The rhythm of the film is very slow, the story told is not complicated at all, it is very realistic and embarrassing, and the actors perform very well. The focus is all on the details, the subtle facial expressions of the protagonists and the less artistic scene changes. The first part and the second part can be compared, this is an alternative literary film.
