Some say that Dongjiu died in the extra part of the original novel, some say that the line was on the wall a long time ago, and some say how could he still be alive after so many shots. When I watched it for the first time, I was also very confused. Although subjectively I hoped that he would be alive, objectively it seemed impossible. I revisited it recently and found a detail, and then I revisited a few clips. With new ideas, I think everyone looks at the ending from their own perspective, not from the director's perspective. Although there are original books and common sense logic, this is a movie after all, and it reflects the director's ideas (and of course the screenwriter). From that perspective, I feel like the director has been implying that Dong-gu is still alive.
In the first clip, on the rooftop, Hai Lang said to Dong Jiu, "Let's compare and see who is the strongest fighter in 5446. If only one of us can survive, I hope that person is you."
In the second clip, Dong Jiu paired His own instructor said, "You said that I must never die, and I will obey this order." In the
third clip, Hae Jin said to Dong Jiu, "Team leader, there are many scaffoldings in this building, you can easily escape. Go." In the
fourth clip, Dong Jiu hugged Haizhen, glanced diagonally downward, and then jumped down the scaffolding. After landing, Hai Zhen didn't respond, Dong Jiu still opened his eyes, and closed his eyes after the memory.
In the fifth clip, the lady of the grocery store said, Dongjiu, remember to let me know if she is still alive, and then she moved the photo to find the words on the wall: "Mom, please take care of yourself." The
first three clips show that the director has been strongly implying , Everyone wants Dongjiu to live, and Dongjiu himself has always had a strong sense of survival. The last jump is not a return to death, but a move that is beneficial to him after judging the situation. Jumping down the scaffolding is still buffered, otherwise it is impossible to be conscious when he finally landed. If according to common sense, it is impossible to live after being shot so many times, then I can only say that movies are higher than life. . . What's more, in reality, there are also all kinds of miraculous survival situations. In the last line, some people said that Dongjiu asked the police for help in the extra story. I think the police and the lady of the grocery store have no relationship, so they won't express it in this way. You can tell her directly or suggest something. There's no need to go to leave a message, what's more, the police don't know that Dongjiu was discovered by the boss at that location.
So in general, I think the director is telling us that Dong-gu is still alive. Given so many clues, and even the ending is so clear, we still have to conjecture backwards, thinking about the movie so profoundly, is this a bit of a middle school Chinese feeling?
