I have to say that there are indeed some flaws in this film, but I want to mention the good aspects.
It can be said that it is a film about man and nature, reflecting the greed in human nature. Many emperors in Chinese history are looking for the way of immortality. This film is an important clue. One line of the film is that the modern businessman Mason, in order to obtain huge profits from the elixir, does not hesitate to send people to the ancient underground. To find out, someone sacrificed in the process, but he didn't care. Until the end, when he planned to kill others, he was shot and killed by the trap of the secret room. Another line is Jia, who is looking for her younger brother. The pocket watch and the childhood memories in her mind will appear intermittently in the film. Her strong and never-give-up character helps her peers to finally find their way out. The little girl in the play is also worth mentioning. In the end, the little girl spit out a spider, which seems to imply that people are the spider who manipulated the girl to bring them to this place. There should be only one kind of spider in Australia, but it appeared in the western part of China, and the habits of this spider have also mutated. Wu Fu, as a pharmacist who studied the elixir of life for the emperor, finally developed a drug, but he became angry. It seems to imply that people who violate the laws of nature will eventually be punished in response. In short, I still think it is worth watching, the special effects of the film are quite good (*๓´╰╯`๓)
