The six characters are Warrant Officer Brother, Child Fucking, Heartthrob, Talented Student, Coward and Swamp Girl. They all died miserably. After reading the 2015 version, I only remember Warrant Officer Brother and the other five female soldiers. I don't remember the whole new version. The character building is not full enough. The background introduction is a bit abrupt. Some shots are inexplicable. The story fluency is poor. Maybe it has something to do with the deletion. The editing is related to the length of the film. The 1972 version is nearly 40 minutes longer than the new version. The characters in the old version are fuller than the new version. The coherence of the whole story and the contrast between the front and back of the story are also more obvious. I watched the 2015 version first and then went to find it again. If you read the 1972 version first and then the new version, you probably won't be able to watch the new version at all. The new version is too unimpressive. After watching both versions, my favorites are Heartthrob and Warrant Officer. --"Dawns Here Are Quiet"
