I also talked to my friend about what it will be like to get old, and the friend said with a smile: "When we get old, we also want to be an old lady who dances together." I laughed for a long time and firmly believed that ^-^~
Old age is such a distant word. The film as a whole tells the story of an old man named Emilio who is getting old in a nursing home, from straight suits to sweaters, from conscious to blurred. Waking up, eating, exercising, sleeping, life is lost in such a day-by-day mechanical life. In fact, everyone knows that they are old, so they came to the nursing home with the idea of not wanting to cause trouble to their families, but everything in the nursing home is telling them nakedly: You are old, you are old, you are old, you can do anything No... It seems that living is just a burden, and everything in the past has worn away with time.
But even if the body is old, the heart still belongs to oneself. So they were willing to get on the train to Atlantis, afraid of Martians that might appear at any time, calling their families day after day, repeating what others said. The flow of life is always unstoppable, so trying to escape seems to be struggling. Miguel, who clamored to "get rid of the shackles of time", had to face old age after a long struggle and a short period of joy. Emilio, a former banker, had to accept that he had Alzheimer's disease. Due to the reality of the disease, Antonia, who lost her walker, also seemed at a loss, and they needed care.
What is caring, probably just a cigarette, a phone call and a puppy. The care in the film is warm and cruel, and the mutual care between the elderly is so warm and intimate. But what about life in the future? And those elderly people who are not cared for?
If one day my life has nothing to worry about, then the world, we will see you in another way.
