First of all, I think this film should be released in China, and the value of the whole film should not be denied because of the mistakes of individual artists. The film itself tells the story of Japan's six-year and ten-month bombing of the temporary capital of Chongqing during World War II. During this period, the Chinese people are experiencing life and death every day, not knowing which disaster or tomorrow will come first. Even in this environment, the Chinese people fought the war to the end and were unyielding.
The "Big Four Bombings in the World" during World War II was absent from a film that recorded the Chongqing Bombing. In 1944, the film "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" brought the "Tokyo Bombing" to the screen; in 1969, it was based on the "London Bombing". "The Eagle over London" was released in the UK; in 2006, the film "Air Raid on Dresden" also completed the adaptation of "Dresden Bombing". So far, only the longest-running "Chongqing Bombing" remains vacant on the big screen.
In the film, after our fighter plane that fell during the decisive battle with the Japanese plane landed, the countless Chinese people who were ushered in were not afraid of the rescue from the hail of bullets and bombardment. It is undeniable that in the war of Japanese aggression against China, a few people became traitors, but the vast majority of Chinese people insisted on the war of resistance and maintained the dignity of the entire nation.
During World War II, China contained two-thirds of Japan's military strength and made an indelible contribution to the war pattern of the entire world. Chongqing, which was the temporary capital at that time, also became a symbol and a kind of spirit. After nearly seven years of indiscriminate bombing, Chongqing did not fall, just like the slogan of the film, "Chongqing will not die, China will not die!"
Chinese people should remember this history. I hope that someone will mention Chongqing in the years to come, not just for hot pot and Hongyan, but to remember that this city used to be the last line of defense for the dignity of the entire nation.
