An accident originating from the 2004 Indonesian tsunami caused many rifts between the characters. He felt sorry for Qi Xi because of her father's death, but he did not dare to confess his love for her; also, because Hyun Joong forced them to go to sea and caused the death of Hee Hee's father, he glared at him...
There are still many cracks, such as the past between Dr. Jin Hui and his wife; why did the wife not tell her daughter that this friend was her father; Hyun Joong has tensions with residents over pushing seaside business plans, etc. These rifts continue throughout the first hour of the film, and are interspersed with humorous plots that keep the first half of the film moving forward in a slightly cheerful mood. Some people may think that the plot of the film is procrastinating and deviating from the theme, but I think it is the director's design to contrast with the disaster. For the arrival of the disaster, the first half of the film is just a step-by-step foreshadowing by the discovery of Dr. Jin Hui.
All cracks can only be repaired in a disaster. Of course, it doesn't mean that the disaster itself has this effect; it's just that we can see who really cares about us and which ones are just boring passers-by in life. Touching is the theme of the last part of the film:
1.Dongchun's mother gave up the opportunity to travel because Dongchun casually mentioned that he did not have leather shoes. He bought leather shoes for him, but he did not escape the disaster in the end.
2. The lifeguard firmly chose to fulfill himself. She gave up the chance to live because of her responsibilities and cut off the lanyard without hesitation.
3. The little girl called out "Dad" at the last moment.
We hate disasters because they ruthlessly take away so many lives and shatter countless possibilities in an instant. There are so many possibilities in life; all we can grasp is our present self and our present. This is a Korean-style disaster film, and this is an Asian-style disaster film that can stand up to Hollywood. For movies, technology can only be an auxiliary means, and human nature is the focus that movies should continue to pay attention to. On that day, the people who watched the movie just wanted what they wanted. After everyone watched it, they could leave something in their hearts, more or less, and that was enough. I think it's a good movie.
