A good movie is worth pondering and pondering over and over again. The movie is still the movie of the year, but after more than ten years, I am no longer that young student.
The film follows the usual compactness of martial arts films, but the plot is unconventional. It has a different feeling in the well-known "destroy Heimuya and kill the undefeated East". This difference can be considered from at least two aspects.
One is the well-known ethical and moral aspects, and the other is character building.
In terms of ethics, you can YY to your heart's content. Dongfang Invincible and Linghu Chong made several attempts to break through several times, using wine as a medium, galloping under the moon. At this time, silence is better than sound, which is probably the case with God. Excluding duplicity, language itself has its limitations. Some communication words cannot be exhausted, and ambiguity may arise, causing a lot of trouble. Sometimes silence is worth a thousand words. What I admire the most and like to ponder about is this kind of ambiguous affection, this kind of unbearable and unbearable love. Dongfang thought he was a confidant, but Linghu Chong regarded him as a confidante. Linghu Chong, who only knew the truth in the first battle at Heimuya, was stunned, and the blood debts of his juniors and brothers were not paid. This made Linghu Chong straighten his sword towards Dongfang without hesitation, and the stabbed Dongfang's expression of hatred and pity towards Linghu was regrettable. But in the end, the scene of Linghu Fei standing on the cliff and hugging the East, makes people feel that this decent big man is somewhat sincere and bloody.
Put aside the old rules, please feel and experience a person with your heart. (If you think Brigitte Lin is too beautiful to ignore the fact that Dongfang and Linghu are messing with each other, then please explore the lily love between Dongfang and Xue Qianxun in the next part.)
Another point, talk about the character of the film. Probably because I watched "Things in the Ming Dynasty" recently, which made me feel a little sympathetic to the characters in the era of war and rebellion. Because they often cannot be masked, are the good people you think are the good people you think? What kind of bad law are bad people? Are there really good people and bad people? Probably not! Most people are fighting to the death for their lives. If I don't kill you, I will be killed by you. You are my hero and you will betray me. The difference between this film and other martial arts films is that there is no conclusion of good and evil in essence. You Linghu is a hero, can you kill those who show mercy to you? Although I kill people in the East, I don't cause trouble because of my magical power. If I don't kill people, I will get rid of me. So after watching the whole film, we can't use simple good and evil to divide the characters. This is Tsui Hark's brilliant point, which is in line with history.
Maybe it will be different in ten years. Dongfang and Linghu, see you in the next 10 years.
