What impressed me most about this film is that the principal has always emphasized that the environment of the school is what society looks like. And the two brothers, the female teacher, and everything their mother says will always be alright. The real society is not as cruel as the school in the film on the surface, but everyone who has experienced countless real and sensible events in the society will deeply feel that the real society is like this. Everyone is like Elma when they are young, and they have their own ideals. The difference is that some people give up and give up under the pressure of the outside world and become a "ghost". Everything is just to adapt to this "society" and can be better of peaceful life. Few people have always insisted on their dreams like Elma, despite being attacked and ridiculed by others, still thinking of being a thoughtful person.
If the principal and his subordinates in the school represent the "evil" in society, then female teachers and prosecutors are the only remaining "good", dedicated to changing this cruel and violent campus environment. What is really scary about the wicked is not that they treat others with indifference, negativity, and cruelty, but that their words and deeds infect people who should have kind hearts. Elma woke up one morning and found that she had wet the bed. She was found by the teacher. The teacher incited the students to abuse Elma. The boy who was sexually assaulted the night before was hesitant to watch everyone abuse her, but he slowly approached Elma. Ma, with an expression of disgust on her face, followed by a violent insult in her mouth. There will always be people who, after being treated with malice, then impose this malice on others, so that they lose sight of the good in their hearts.
This film, in my opinion, bears a lot of resemblance to The Shawshank Redemption, in that the protagonists in the film have the wit and courage to be reborn. It's just that the capabilities of the two are different, and the impact is also different. In my opinion, the Shawshank Redemption is more exciting, and it makes people feel the power of life and the shock of breaking through the bondage.
