The little tailor's departure is not surprising at all. There is a detail in the movie. The little tailor's table is full of airplane models made by herself, which shows that she has already had a sprouting in her consciousness. The arrival of the two male protagonists has made her aware of this. Recognized and clarified instead of being treated as a monster (in the context of that era). The desire deep in the little tailor's heart has been endorsed by Balzac, and the pursuit of beauty and freedom is no longer satisfied with specific and partial realization.
