When I saw Xin Mei swore to join the Young Pioneers under the North Korean flag, I was struck. I can't help but wonder if I'm qualified to laugh at a hundred steps. When I was a child, I used to shout a similar slogan, join the Young Pioneers with the same fist clenched, watch the news broadcast every day, carry the text of 'hit Japanese imperialism', we look at them, they look at us.
However, I am also fortunate to live in this relatively fair and tolerant soil. Even if I am suspected of being brainwashed, I love my motherland from the bottom of my heart. It is also a socialist country, hereditary, autocratic, and poverty have always been the labels of North Korea, and caution is the hoop that constantly reminds me as we move forward. In this country, there must be self-control, not willfulness.
Brainwashed politics, the tragic end of stowaways, being shot for disagreements, I don't know why there is a real absurdity in the world. But I live free and healthy. The motherland gives me freedom, free thinking, and free love. As Wang Shuo said, a person, only the love of freedom will never tire and never end.
Despite our hardships, freedom has triumphed along the way.
But North Korea is still North Korea.
The greatest poverty is not poverty itself, but not being allowed to be rich.
Looking forward to one day, as the director said:
"I want to release this film in North Korea. I look forward to the day when I can enjoy this film with the North Korean people and talk about the past with a smile."
