Half of the sadness, dazzling and deep in the dark

I admit that when I first watched it, I couldn't stand it. It took two days to read it. When I saw the back, I happened to have a Taiwanese friend and chatted with her. So there is more perspective and perspective.

I just watched "Guling Street Teenage Murder" two days ago. Many people compared the two. The former will affect the audience more directly in terms of plot, rhythm and perspective, but "Sad City" is indeed more restrained. Personal emotions are stitched into each shot. Personal philosophical thoughts and historical memories are spread out in front of our eyes through ordinary people, and suddenly we feel like we are slowly sinking into the bottom of the water, looking for a handle loosely, and there is nowhere to say sadness.

What is worth noting in the film is that we can often have a "sense of being blocked". The camera is sometimes hidden between two doors, sometimes blocked, and sometimes cut up by an abrupt column. Experiencing stories that seem to be pushed farther, but are in fact infinitely like us.

They are the narrow hospital corridor, the master's bedroom, the dining table of the Lin family, and the small door of the prison... Ordinary and thrilling stories are happening in these places all the time, and this is everyone's own story. , but always have a relationship with the people around you, and always echo a turbulent era.

Whether it’s the wounded and the patients coming and going in the hospital, or Wenqing and Kuanmei, or the Lin family, they are instead focused because of the blocked doors and walls, because of the turbulent changes around them, framed or helped by others , the every move of these focused people is more dazzling and real. If there is a story of this generation, these shadow doors that I have blocked as a director are a blank space for us.

At the same time, the editing of the shots and the original soundtrack can really be said to be a model for too many works. Tony Leung's innocence and sincerity often touches me. From the perspective of an actor, it really leaves a good memory for a movie.
