In fact, many films are fresh and trendy the first time you watch them. Downstream and Countercurrent opens with gays and a one-night stand in a bar, and throughout the film are rivers and lakes, underworld and gunfights, and there are men who help women deliver babies in warehouses at the back of the film. The taste is not light.
I suddenly thought of this film today. What I want to watch is not new, but I want to see what makes this film different, so that I can still think of it after watching many movies. It seems that it is a kind of convection confusion. The eldest brother (Huang Qiusheng) is the most confused. He has been insomnia for more than ten years. Every night he wonders whether he should stay in the hole or climb out of the hole. He tells his little brother the story of the mouse again and again. I also wanted to find an answer, an answer that I couldn't figure out by myself, but a younger brother like Nicholas Tse might be able to figure out. Old Jianghu (Wu Bai) is just the opposite. No matter which way the river rushes, he will only focus on protecting his woman after having the second young lady. It's a pity that in the end, only with his vigorous skills and ever-changing dress, he could only return the second young lady to his rich father-in-law, so ruthless and so lonely.
The last thing I want to talk about is my beloved Nicholas Tse, the protagonist of the film, Ajie. Ajie is in his early 20s, at the most important age in his life, his blood is full of (Huang Qiusheng) has no hope of moving forward. Only at the age of 21 can he go out to see if there are mouse traps outside. At the age of 21, he will face the light of hope and not be afraid of the burn of fire. What the hell is out there? What is life in the end? The film didn't tell the truth, but in the end, she gave birth to two children, and told us that these two children were called Hope.
Director Tsui Hark is very impressive. Although I have not followed or followed him, my impression of him is generally good. In the film, I still don't understand what he is expressing, can people only place their hopes on the next generation? Why not start with ourselves? Still don't understand, better?
Even if people don't believe it 100% of the time and can't take a firm step forward, fortunately there is still hope.
