Faith, or lack of faith?

One afternoon last year, I went to Pudong to watch Fellini's "Sweet Days" at the Italian Film Festival. At first, I didn't pay attention to the unattractive title. Then I realized that it was Fellini's lingering, superficial but superficial play. Talking about the ironic joke that can't be broken through.

The prosperous Rome is full of dazzling stars and sweet gossip. Newspapers act as small peepers in order to survive. The goal of reporters is not true and profound but the private lives of celebrities. Prosperity is inevitably connected with impetuousness. Even if you have intended to find a clean, true, profound and noble lifestyle, in the end, it seems that you can only sigh weakly in front of juggling survival. I don't know the name of the fish caught on the beach at the end of the film. I just saw it staring like everyone else, unable to control it.

In the middle of the film, there is a small song about the child claiming to see the Virgin. Not only are people who are looking forward to physical recovery, but also reporters with all the equipment. In the end, the pouring rain forced all the lights to turn off without knowing the current affairs. The two children said meaningless words and went home. Only the crazy believers crowded and shouted and finally ripped off all the branches and leaves on the so-called sacred tree. My mind suddenly sounded: Is this an era of faith, or an era of lack of faith?

This sentence lingered in my mind throughout the second half of the screening, and made me cry in the dark theater several times.

Only Italians can do it, and most of the time I'm just the sea monster at the end of the credits who is dead for three days and still looks at humans.

Fellini's night and day switch so fast, everything is true and illusion, miracles and scandals, fame and desire, every scene is an absurd dance party, and Emma, who was a normal person before, is also a lunatic in the end. Maybe the girl in the restaurant has a real smile at the end of the film. . .
