I especially like this little sad literary film.
Her life was not smooth. She worked as a waiter in a small restaurant, had a bastard boyfriend, her parents divorced, her mother married her uncle, her brother was a soldier, and her sister didn't know what shameful job she was doing in a bar. One day, I couldn't take it anymore and broke up with my jerk rock boyfriend. He was fired by the boss and wanted to go home, but his mother repeatedly shied away. In desperation, temporarily rely on friends. I think she just needs love and company.
Well, she found the job. This is a work about companionship. At twelve years old, he has an amazing IQ, a musical prodigy, and can think like an adult. His home is as big as a palace, and there is a Spanish cook. His mother is strict with him. She is so busy with work that she has no time to take care of him. His father died when he was three, and he has a stepfather.
It's a short journey between a woman and a boy. They were with each other, and sometimes, without a word, he could always tell what the other was thinking. Maybe it's because he's smart, or because he wants to get to know her. In one detail, at the beginning of the film, when my mother told him that his nanny had quit her job, he said why she didn't say goodbye to me. I think this is a boy with a lot of emotions inside. At the end of the film, when Eleanor was with Reggie Say goodbye, he made an Italian breakfast, made her favorite snacks for her to eat in the car, and he said, It`s really nice getting to know you. This time, he finally To say goodbye, she hugged him affectionately.
Eleanor encouraged him not to give up playing cello. But he insisted that he did not like the cello. One night, Eleanor told him that she had played cornetto before. She said she could have gone to the Juilliard School, but had no money to fulfill her dream. In the car, Reggie tells Eleanor, you have a gift and you have an obligation to take care of it, and
he asks her to promise him not to give up the dream.
After she left, he resumed the cello. He sent her cornetto.
In the end, they were in different places, playing Like Sunday, Like Rain.
Life is like a sunny day and like a rainy day.

Like Sunday, Like Rain quotes

  • Reggie: I guess right around 4 I figured out I was sort of a math prodigy, solving pretty intricate math problems.

    Eleanor: Like What.

Reggie: Multiplying 7 to 10 digit numbers in my head. I could give you the cube root of pretty much any number.

    Eleanor: Like Rainman.

Reggie: No, he was an autistic savant. As you can tell, I'm alert, extroverted, affable and articulate...

    Eleanor: Of course.

Reggie: ...and not to mention devilishly handsome.

    Eleanor: Not to mention.

  • Eleanor: What was the name of that piece you wrote for the recital?

    Reggie: Like Sunday, Like Rain.

    Eleanor: So beautiful.

Reggie: I'll write a part for the cornet.
