But how can I make it clear? I did come across three Japanese movies about crushes around the same month.
"Love Letter", "April Story", "About the Rainy Season".
It took me a particularly long time to watch "April Story", and I
don't know if it was because I watched "April" in July.
It's easy to get interrupted while watching this movie. An hour of film, I watched as a week.
It was not until I finished watching "About the Rainy Season" that I understood the purpose of its stubborn appearance.
The three movies all start with a crush, but they give us three completely different endings and feelings.
What's even more amazing is that some kind of connection can be found between them.
The first way of saying secret love - the tragic "Love Letter"
When it comes to secret love, the first thing that comes to mind is the classic saying:
"The farthest distance in the world is not the distance between life and death, but I am standing in front of you, You don't know that I love you,
the furthest distance in the world is not that I stand in front of you, but you don't know that I love you, but you are obsessed, but you can't say that I love you."
When I read this sentence when I was in school, it was hard not to feel sad. Just imagine how this is a kind of grinding love?
The person who had a crush on the movie "Love Letter" did not let others discover his crush until he died.
I'd love to ask him - why not?
With so much time together, why not let the other person know that you love her?
Lots of questions. Point to his intentions.
Such love! It always makes us unhappy. Just imagine the beauty and the difference after the confession.
But in the end, what was left in my heart was empty regret and dissatisfaction.
It may be such an emotion that lets us understand that crushes are mostly such bitter and self-evident tragedies.
The second way of saying secret love - the comedy "April Story"
is different from the secret love of "Love Letter". "April Story" seems to be closer to our imagination and psychological desire.
The protagonist also experienced a secret love and waited, but she tried to create opportunities,
even after all the hardships, but also to stand in front of her beloved.
Even if it was just a small smile when we met, it had already created ripples in our hearts.
The kind of nervousness and secret joy when we meet again, isn't it a happy picture that I have rehearsed many times in my heart?
The movie ends here. Sooner or later, the audience is left unfulfilled.
Let's fully believe in that happy ending.
The third way of talking about secret love - the tragicomedy "About the Rainy Season"
, the secret love movies introduced above, all focus on the process of secret love, but the ending is lightly described.
And people who have a crush are unilaterally in love with each other. But "About the Rainy Season" is different.
This is the secret love of the two of them. From the weight, it is known that their love is more touching and tortuous.
So it is inevitable to cry and laugh while watching.
The protagonist experienced the distress of a secret love, and also repaid the happiness after the confession.
Although the final story is twisty, but also very imaginative. But this is the most enjoyable crush movie I've ever watched.
There is a beginning and an end. There is sadness and love. Even if the ending isn't perfect, I think it's the best.
The three movies have made different interpretations of secret love.
"Love Letter": No beginning and no end. The most real, universal crush in real life. 90% (percentage of secret crush results in real life)
"April Story": There are reasons and no results. Brave crush in real life. 9%
"Around the Rainy Season": There is a beginning and an end. Promising crush in real life. It is obvious why "Love Letter" has the most recognition among the 1%
of the three films.
With my "I am brighter than fireworks" character, I still like "About the Rainy Season" the most.
Although it's not real, isn't the movie just one dream after another?
I wish it were so beautiful.
