The New Order without the New Order

It was the first time I watched "The New Order", and it caused severe physical discomfort after watching it. It's not because of how strong the visual impact of the shots and pictures inside, or how straightforward the human nature it presents. This discomfort leaves me with no way of judging whether the movie is good or bad.

It is said to be "The New Order", but it is very ironic. The letter "E" on the poster uses a mirror image to flip the plane. The director's worries and thoughts about Mexico at the moment are all revealed in this film.

At the beginning of the movie, a group of wealthy people are holding a grand wedding, which is sensual. But just a few blocks away, there was a riot by the people at the bottom, who smashed, looted, and splashed green paint everywhere. The music at the wedding couldn't cover the sound of airplane propellers and gunshots in the distance. The rich are still immersed in their own world, although the hostess' mother is worried, the illusion that the water flowing out of the water pipe is also green. Yes, they are not really worried, because apart from the bodyguards they hired themselves, the police and the military will protect them. So, the wedding was not interrupted.

But, perhaps like the green water coming out of the water pipe, their protective umbrella may have been rendered useless.

The former servant of the hostess's house had to come to the rich man's house to ask for help because his wife was seriously ill. But the only one who really lends a hand is the heroine in the bright red dress. She even left her wedding scene with a servant named Christian, with a credit card, determined to take the servant's wife to the hospital for treatment under the strict lockdown.

However, shortly after the heroine left, the mob climbed over the walls of the rich people's house, broke in, and cooperated with the servants who were also at the bottom of the family, burning, killing and looting, venting their anger and hatred.

And the servants who were supposed to protect the rich pointed their guns at their masters.

It all happened so suddenly and reminded me of the Bloody Wedding in Game of Thrones, literally.

But even so, where are the police and the military who are protecting the rich at this time? None came.

The heroine is trapped in the servant's house. Christian wanted to help the heroine get home, so he ventured out to the street to find the military, who said they could guarantee to send the heroine home. Then, the story starts to change from here. The heroine was asked by the military to remove all valuables such as jewelry and watches from her body and hand them over to a female soldier.

The story that followed, although predictable, came directly.

The heroine was not sent home, but was kidnapped by the military. The purpose of the kidnapping is also very simple and crude: money. Everyone who was caught had a number on their head, and the heroine's was 16.

Everyone was asked about the situation at home in detail, and then the women were arrested for the male soldiers to play with and force the women to do it. The heroine was dressed in red and looked particularly eye-catching. Looking back at the beginning of the movie, she was still kissing her lover at her wedding, and it was inseparable.

But at this moment, the person who should protect him is pulling his head and forcing him to swallow the other's lower body.

Afterwards, the rich people with the numbers above their heads were asked to record a threatening video of "I'm fine, what they say and what you do", and they were not allowed to call the police.

Some people gathered money at home, and the soldiers said they could go out, but they only waited for a gunshot.

The family of the heroine chose to cooperate with the military after receiving the threat news.

Of course, in addition to video threats, the military also asks for money from people around the rich. After that, the military found Christian and his mother, who were at the bottom of the society, and went to the rich to ask for ransom.

800,000 the first time, 1 million the second time.

Because both of them are working in rich families.

At this time, the mob had been suppressed, and the green color was no longer visible on the screen, so all order was under the control of the military. However, giving money can not exchange for freedom.

"Only the death have seen the end of the war."

The ransom on the 16th went from 10,000,000 to 800,000, and finally to the bottom military who kidnapped the heroine, only 100,200 and 200,000. Exploitation and oppression also exist in the military at a high social level.

Christian and his mother failed to get the second million, and the military's two low-level soldiers also failed to complete the task. All that awaited them was a bullet and a fiery burn.

As for Christian, the military blamed Christian for the crime after killing the heroine.

The funny thing is that the group of people at the bottom who helped the military to extort money were pushed out and used as scapegoats.

In the end, the irony is that the military and the rich are sitting on the high platform, watching the people at the bottom struggle to death.

In my opinion, the so-called "new order" is nothing more than an order led by desire. This reform of the order does not produce the so-called new order, but the old order. The so-called old order is the order guided by power and money. The riots of the poor are just an opportunity, an opportunity to consolidate and amplify the old order.

In the old order, the wealth of the rich and the power of the military ruled everything, was, is, and will be.

And we can think about what role the military plays in the film. The film did not explain why the hatred between the rich and the poor started, but it is not difficult to imagine: the military is playing a big game, and they are muddying the water between the poor and the rich.

The poor rioted, the rich were killed, and the military did not stop the loss in time. Later, the military suppressed the riots, robbed the rich and blamed the poor. Killing the kidnapped rich man immediately after getting the ransom is a good proof. Of course, the heroine is also doomed. In the end, the poor are dead, and the military and the rich are still sitting together and overlooking everything.

This riot may further intensify the contradiction between the rich and the poor, and may be followed by more violent riots, repression... and another cycle.

The color scheme of the whole film is very interesting, which is the only thing I like about the film. Green represents the poor, red represents the rich, and black represents the military.

It's interesting to have an empty scene in the film. A Mexican flag flutters slowly in the wind through the gradient film front window. As the car moved forward, the flag got bigger and bigger, and the window film on the upper part of the window gradually covered the flag with a shadow.

The Mexican flag has three colors: green, white, and red. Let's make a bold guess, will white become black in the end? I never believe that the military's reversal is a moment and a half. I believe that it has always been there. Maybe white is turned into black by mirroring it?

Of course, the director did not explain too much in the film, and everything is just my personal understanding.

Regrettably, all the good people in the film died, and they died neatly: the heroine, the old servant, Christian, and his mother.

The old servant died under the gun of the military just to save his wife. At his funeral, the priest said: An army of angels is coming.

There is no new order, everything is still the same as before, the poor still have a bad life, and power and money still dominate this society.

The old order is still going on, before and after.
