The movie begins with the retreat of Heungnam due to North Korea's capture of South Korea. On the way to retreat, Dexiu and his sister get lost. Later, Dexiu's aunt died and adopted the "Pollen House" to Dexiu, but Dexiu's uncle did not agree and wanted to sell the shop. Dexiu remembered the agreement with his father that year, and still gritted his teeth and bought the "Pollen House", but the family didn't have so much money, so Dexiu had to work as a mercenary for the US in the Vietnam War to make money. On the 33rd anniversary of the Korean War, Deok-soo found his sister through KBS's program, but he hadn't found his father, so "The House of Pollen" still couldn't be sold. When Dexiu got old, Dexiu's children and grandchildren began to talk about "why not sell the 'Pollen House' and change the name", Dexiu thought that there was little hope of seeing his father again, so he sold it .
The entire film revolves around the story of "the 'house of pollen' in the international market". Without the Korean War, Deok-soo wouldn't have been lost with his father, and Deok-soo wouldn't have to travel around to buy the "Pollen House" when he grew up. But it was because he wanted to buy the "Pollen House" that Deok-soo became disabled.
