A good movie is one that doesn't pee the whole time, pinning you to your seat without moving, and this movie has that magic.
The protagonist Yin, the eldest son of a family, lost his father and sister in an evacuation, so he had to play the role of father, provoke the burden of the family, and take care of the weak mother and young younger siblings. When he was a child, he shined shoes on the street and was beaten for chocolate, but when he came home, he said he had fallen. When he grew up, he liked to read, and he was admitted to Ocean University, but he sacrificed himself several times because of the academic and dowry problems of his younger siblings.
After his father left, he worked hard to play the role of the head of the family, doing too much for survival, commitment and responsibility. He also had dreams of becoming a captain and sailing the seas on a big ship. Decades passed in a flash, and he only occasionally chatted with his wife about these inconspicuous little things. When the child grows up, he leaves to pursue his dream like a bird, and no one ever asks what he thinks.
Yin is the epitome of thousands of small people in South Korea, ordinary and inconspicuous, but for the family, it is very important. I also think of my fathers and grandparents, who also lived in times of war and suffered hardships in order to survive. Every hard-working old man deserves our respect. They once had dreams about this world, but the reality is so skinny.
When I get home, I'm going to go back and ask my dad what his childhood dream was. No matter what, I will listen carefully. Thank you Dad for everything you do for this family.
