"Desire" is a film directed by Tetsuya Nakajima and released in 2014. The film is adapted from the novel "Endless Longing" by Akiyo Fukamachi. Komatsu Nana has an outstanding performance in this film. This film may be regarded as the most "heavy" film by Tetsuya Nakajima. It does not have the restraint that is eloquently described in "Confession", but intuitively puts all the sins and darkness in front of the audience. The film uses a fragmented narrative, with multiple clues, to reveal what kind of person Kanako is, and reveal the darkest side of human nature. It is said that Tetsu Nakajima also said that after reading the original book, he said that this book was too dark and evil, and that he must shoot it out. In fact, the comprehensive level of the original novel is also relatively average, just showing the dark side of human nature naked and ignoring the real connotation content cannot be called a good work, so I have reservations about the original novel and this film. However, I really like Tetsuya Nakajima's level of picture processing, which is one of the reasons why I love Tetsuya Nakajima's films even if the script is not outstanding.
