Before watching the film, from the film's creative lineup to the poster preview, I thought that this would be an oriental fantasy film focusing on vision and action, and China in the eyes of foreigners will always make us feel more or less unacceptable. . And after watching the whole film, I was surprised to find that it turned out to be a French humor film under the packaging of oriental fantasy.

The target audience of this film should be foreign teenagers, and all the stories can be understood as a "spring dream" of a small foreign friend. From this point of view, you will find that many passages and settings of the film make sense.

First of all, as a teen movie, the story of "Warrior's Gate" is not like our usual Hollywood blockbuster. The whole story of the movie is "light entertainment". We still know very little about foreign youth movies and the living conditions of foreign youths. From films that describe reality like "High School Musical" and "Football Stunner" to fantasy themes like "Twilight", "The Hunger Games" and "Maze Runner", the latter may still be acceptable to us, but the former , or closer to their life situation. So, rather than being unfamiliar with the Chinese elements in this film, it's more that we don't understand the real life of foreign teenagers. Because the Chinese elements in the film are shown from their perspective.

Secondly, the Chinese adventure in the movie can be regarded as a "spring dream" of the male protagonist: an online game-like adventure, the halo of the protagonist against the sky, the beautiful oriental queen, not to mention the little foreign friends, just me The Chinese auntie, think about it and feel exciting. Maybe we are used to seeing the serious martial arts in China. If you put aside the stereotype, you will find that the movie is still very interesting.

Although the main line of the story is oriental fantasy, the core of the film is French humor. From the various absurd behaviors of the princess' crossing to the present, to the careless rescue process, the movie will always poke your laughter before you know it. In the end, when the princess was rescued without a hitch and the boy kissed his beloved as he wished, you will find that you have also become that wet dream boy, and the boy's heart has been completely released.

As a co-production, Chinese actors are given more opportunities to perform in the film. Among them, Zhao Youting's performance is remarkable. In recent years, the performance of Chinese actors in Hollywood has made me doubt the acting skills of Orientals. Either the appearance is all kinds of fights, or it is only two or three lines. Zhao Youting's performance made me understand that in those movies, Chinese actors can only be counted as a placement advertisement, and there is not much room for them to play.

The setting of the movie is getting more and more oriental. In contrast, the oriental movies made by foreigners before, either the characters are flying over the eaves, or the locations are weird, which makes it difficult for the oriental people to accept. Several scenes in this movie make people feel that they can find a sense of deja vu from many domestic movies. I can feel that Chinese culture is being accepted by Westerners. So we should be more confident.

So, I still like this lighthearted movie. 2016 is coming to an end soon, you have worked hard for a year, why not let yourself go and go to the cinema to watch such a happy movie and relax?
