It has been a year and a half since it was first opened
After enjoying the first episode countless times and then being interrupted for various reasons, I finally squeezed in the time to watch the first episode today.
I remember the first time I watched it for a few minutes and there was something I couldn't understand. After watching it several times, there were long and short ones. I always felt that the thinking of the director and Niemann was too jumpy and not relevant, so many places Confused by looking at it
Today is complete, I didn't watch it at 1.5x speed, and finally I gradually understood the many layers of ideas that Niemann may be conveying, as well as his multiple understandings and interpretations of abstract.
Because art is to speak the experience of real life in the form of visual, in order to achieve the empathy with the viewer, the experience of this life is abstract, and it is also the starting point of artistic creation. But abstracts like this are too homogeneous. How to visualize and speak abstractions is up to the artist himself. In the second half, Niemann gave a lot of entry points from abstract to visual illustration, which can be said to be very wonderful
I should read it again in the future and make detailed comments. It seems possible that last winter was really not the best timing for me to watch this documentary. The various experiences in the past year and a half have given me a lot of new insights, but the experience of opening a work so many times is really rare and novel.
This process is also great.
