The film was an Indian entry for the 2015 Toronto Film Festival and was directed by a woman, Lena Yadav. The film focuses on impoverished villages in India, where there is not even a TV set. All major decisions, such as whether to buy TV sets for women, are made by local elders. The film tells the story of three women's journey from being submissive to being awakened and resisting. Rani, married at the age of 15, died of her husband two years after marriage, and took care of her young son and mother-in-law alone. Rani hasn't touched a man in 15 years, and her mother-in-law in bed seems to be her final ending. Rani's only pleasure is chatting on the phone with a strange man, a ray of light in her dark life. In order to marry her son, she did not hesitate to mortgage her house to borrow money. On the wedding day, the daughter-in-law shaved her short hair to resist, the mother-in-law died in bed, and the son took the opportunity to get rid of the new daughter-in-law and search for flowers and willows with friends. Finally one day, the son was detained for looking for a prostitute, and he could only ask his mother to pay back the money to redeem him. Maybe she was too disappointed with her son's depravity, or she couldn't bear her 15-year-old daughter-in-law to go her own way. Beachley is a showgirl in a wandering dance troupe and a prostitute at the same time. Her personality and figure are very hot, and her knowledge is much higher than that of ordinary rural women. Does this symbolize that the village has been swallowed up by traditional customs and that only leaving can save itself.
