This video was released by the teacher in the elective class. After watching it, I wrote a review, and I will post it here by the way.
After watching the Hungarian short film "The Secret of the School Choir" in class, I have a different feeling: I think the teacher is right to arrange silent singing. Because the film tells the audience that with the current "strength" of the chorus, they can completely win the first place and can go to Switzerland to stand on a bigger stage, so that more children can expand their horizons, maybe They will continue to learn and improve after performing in Switzerland, and eventually they will be allowed to "speak". But after the film, the teacher's comments reminded me, what if I stand on the side of the child? I found that my previous thoughts were all from the perspective of a teacher or an adult. At this time, I only saw one purpose, which is the ultimate benefit. It's like using unscrupulous means to achieve the goal, so as to forget the children who are at the mercy, and it's also like what some parents often say to their children: I'm all for your own good. But in this process, parents only see a bright future, but have they considered their children's feelings during the process? And let's think about the children who are arranged to sing silently. They stand with the "excellent" members that the teacher thinks, but they dare not speak because they are afraid that they will drag the whole group down, feel inferior because they are inferior to others, and even get sung. Good children laugh, we can also imagine that when these children really stand on the stage of Switzerland, will the silent singing members be happy? How much psychological damage will such behavior cause to children who are beginning to understand the world? We don't know, but this is by no means the way an educator should use it. At the end of the film, the voices of the children tell us that none of them should be assigned to sing silently. The above are my thoughts
