I remember when I watched "The Big Event", the beginning of the plot should be like this:
1. Ren Xianqi and Ding Haifeng met in a residential building, and the two sides discussed the next robbery layout, but what they didn't know was that in the residential building opposite them, the serious crime team was observing their meeting through a telescope, and using the mouth shape to observe their meeting. Judge the content of their conversation.
2. After the discussion, Ding Haifeng and a companion went to the watch store to buy a watch, and then went back to a food stall to eat with Ren Xianqi and others. Ren Xianqi also subconsciously looked at Ding Haifeng's watch.
But I don't know when it started, this 2-3 minute scene was actually cut. At least the TV version and the online version of "The Big Event" no longer have this content. The beginning is the classic 8 Minute long shot shootout.
It is undeniable that Du Qifeng's creation is indeed commendable, but unfortunately, like the usual Hong Kong police and bandit shootout films, the falseness of the shootout scene directly lowered the quality of the shootout scene.
1. Zhang Jiahui's MP5 submachine gun, plus the 38-point revolver of many police officers, can actually shoot against a gangster with two automatic rifles and multiple military pistols. Is this kind of firepower equal?
2. The automatic rifles of the gangsters fired at Zhang Jiahui, Xu Shaoxiong and others, who were less than 10 meters away, and then shot at the reinforcement police cars that were less than 20 meters away. Without exception, the thin doors of many police cars blocked the automatic Rifle bullet, is this possible?
The 8-minute long shot raised this scene to a different level, but the falseness of the scene pulled it down again. At least after many years of comparison, the Russian version of "The Big Event" filmed after purchasing the copyright, the shootout at the beginning is called a classic!
Even if the first 2-3 minutes of scenes are not deleted, the length of "The Big Event" is only 90 minutes, so the author doubts whether the production team deleted other scenes during post-production, because there are many scenes in the whole film. The plot doesn't fit together.
1. Ren Xianqi used a liquefied gas tank to force the police back. As soon as he turned around, there were dozens of rush photos in his mobile phone that forced the police back. Who took it? When was it taken again? At least no answer is given in the footage of the movie. In the Russian version of "The Big Event", people gave a clear answer: one of the gangsters is a selfie maniac and likes to leave images at critical moments.
2. Ding Haifeng and a companion have been separated from Ren Xianqi, but when they finally broke through, they gathered together in confusion. When did they join forces?
3. It was also understandable that Lin Xue and his family who were being held hostage had to break out of the siege while covered with sheets, but what about the many neighbors next to him? The movie didn't show them being hijacked, so why did they cooperate so well and break through in the same way?
And these questions were clearly explained in the Russian version: the gangsters wandering outside eventually reconciled with the gangsters in the house, and when the siege broke out, the only hostages held were the one in the house.
In our version, either some of the director's ideas were not added to the shots, which caused the plot to jump, or these links encountered other deletions, which caused the plot to not fit.
