I've always loved watching WWII-related stuff. A lot of macro things have been understood more clearly. But very little is known about Estonia. Nor did he pay attention to the Estonian perspective. The structure of this film I hadn't encountered before. The first half of the German perspective, the second half of the Soviet perspective. But the two parts are united by the characters being Estonian. Fate is so tragic. The parents of the German protagonist were listed by the father of the Soviet protagonist and sent to Siberia. The German protagonist was killed by the Soviet protagonist during the battle. The Soviet protagonist found a letter in his clothes, and he sent his surname to meet the German protagonist's sister and fell in love with her. But I didn't have the courage to tell her the truth. Killed his brother himself, and sent their parents to Siberia because of his own father. The same plot, the same words repeated over and over, really shocking. The Estonian youth were confused by the Soviet army and the German army, and then they were recruited by the Soviet army. For what. Absurd enough.
A small country is sandwiched between two totalitarian beasts. Play Hearts of Iron 4 to choose the Soviet Union and justify the war objective against the Baltic states, which after some time capitulate: welcome to the Soviet Union! Ha ha ha ha!
What kind of world is this. How illusory and absurd!
Understand war, only to avoid war.
