Can't see the heaviness of history

First time watching a Korean historical drama. It may be due to the lack of understanding of the social background and cultural atmosphere at that time, and the boundaries between the limitations of characters (crowds) and the limitations of the times are not clear when judging characters. But at the end, when Kong Ji's suppressed emotions emerged, he seemed to give the audience an answer: life is precious, love is more expensive, and if it is freedom, both can be thrown away. The so-called background of the times can be seen from the popular actors, and even the stark contrast between Kong Ji and Changsheng before the ending.
This kind of awareness is performed by a feminine and cowardly man, and it has a far-reaching charm with a lingering voice.
